Job Pic

We are delighted to announce that we have been re-appointed to produce the North West Regional Construction Awards 2012 and 2013 following a highly competitive 6-way pitch process.

The awards, organised by the Centre for Construction Innovation and the University of Salford, are now in their sixth year and will take place on Thursday 31 May 2012 at The Palace Hotel, Manchester.

Managing Director Barry Hardman said, ‘We are thrilled to win the contract for full production of the awards for both 2012 and 2013. We produced the events in 2010 and 2011 and it is great to be retained for the next two years.

The awards get bigger and better each year and always have a fun and exciting theme to tie together the branding, entertainment and whole feel of the evening. As part of our pitch we proposed a ‘Roaring Twenties’ theme that the team loved and we are really excited about. The theme fits perfectly with the venue, the audience and plans are all starting to come together to make this the best awards night yet.’

The awards are now open for entries until Thursday 8 March 2012 and more information about the awards, categories and sponsorship opportunities can be found at the event website www.constructionawardsnw.co.uk

    Manual for Streets

    Manual for Streets 2011

Clear were asked by Places Matter! a Northwest Architecture and Design Centre to produce a short video to promote the Manual for Streets design philosophy. The aim of the video was to promote the Manual for Streets vision and encourage engineers, architects and planners who are involved in planning public realm spaces to attend a workshop to learn and understand more. The video needed to be in web format to go on various websites as well as social media sites.

The video needed to be contemporary, interesting and show real life examples of both good and bad public space.

Shot in the city centre of Manchester and presented by the Chair of the Places Matter! Design Review Panel Martin Stockley, the video used a combination of live footage and stylish graphics created in Final Cut.

Clear were responsible for full production of the video including: storyboarding, scripting, filming, directing, editing, graphics and music. Two versions of the video were produced including a 12 minute edit and a 5 minute highlights edit.

The outcome was a video that looks professional, modern and really gets across the key messages of Manual for Streets.

    Manchester Pride 2011

    Eco 2011

Clear Presentations worked with our sister agency Clear Marketing on the production of exciting, dynamic and vibrant Motion Graphics for Manchester Pride 2011. The on screen graphics were used throughout the four day festival and needed to look fresh, colourful and edgy. They were used to kick off the festival, introduce the performers who would be entertaining the crowds including Pixie Lott, The Sugarbabes and Alexandra Burke, reinforce branding and advertise sponsors and supporters.

The graphics needed the wow factor and the vibrant Motion sequence Clear Presentations put together certainly did this. The team at Pride were thrilled with how the graphics looked and the crowds’ reaction.

Web success for Clear and Souter PR

    souter

    The brief
Clear were appointed by Souter PR, a long standing partner of the agency, to help with a re-brand that included logo refresh and a new website. As Souter PR were celebrating their 10th year in business the brief was to create a new look that was fresh, vibrant and creative. Souter PR wanted to emphasise its different service offerings and make them more clearly defined on the website. Souter provided background info on the three sub-brands and Clear set about refreshing the parent logo and developing three new sub-brands as a basis for the site.
    - SouterStudio - SouterBrand - SouterReputation

To mark the anniversary and to reflect new impetus behind the business Souter PR wanted to website to look professional and contemporary and reflect Souter PR’s approachability and personality. The site also needed to contain lots of evidence of what a PR campaign should look like, the breadth of work Souter PR offered plus case studies and testimonials to communicate a results-oriented culture. It also needed to allow Souter PR to make changes and manage their own content ongoing and show live links to Twitter and Linked in – key community portals for the agency.

    Clear’s response
We took the brief and started working up designs in-house coming up with a few design options and colourways at the outset. Souter PR liked the first designs and we worked together to tweak them. Souter PR provided copy and the whole project evolved as a partnership over the course of about four months from concept to going live. We focused efforts on a really striking home page, made sure it was easy to navigate and that the look was suitably sleek and stylish. Contemporary features, images and icons are used throughout the site to achieve this. The CMS is easy to use and the incorporation of social media, SEO and clever coding was designed to help boost traffic to the site and increase online visibility. This was an especially demanding brief in the sense that this was a communications agency’s website so the pressure was on to say we can do this and do it well.

    Working together
Clear and Souter PR developed a good working relationship throughout with a mix of technical and client management expertise. Everything was done pretty much as soon as was asked – even if the client changed her mind.

    Results
The website went live mid-May 2011 and we have had some fantastic comments. Many people commented on what a fresh, bright site it was – great use of pink – and that they were drawn in to explore – which was one of the goals of the relaunch. Its links with social media keep it ever fresh and changing and links to youtube showing video testimonial around the kind of work the agency undertakes for major brands.

    Client testimonial
Managing Director Sue Souter said: “Re-launching a website is a major challenge and Clear steered us through it with great patience, a good eye for design and super functionality which we think appeals to our customers. It’s easy for us to update also – a key consideration – we are uploading content daily now and publishing blogs and releases from across the client portfolio. We can hold our heads up high now and start to approach top notch clients. Thank you Clear for a great experience. It was good to work with you. Also loved the refreshed look around the brand logo and sub-brands – much more modern and confident – thanks."
