The Keep Britain Tidy Network Awards will be presented at a gala dinner at Villa Park on the evening of 13th March. Trophies and certificates will be awarded in the following categories:
Changing Behaviour
To reward organisations who have implemented a holistic approach to engage, educate and empower local residents and communities. To recognise and reward where a whole package of measures has been implemented, including where education is followed by effective enforcement frameworks.
‘Love Where You Live’ Community Award
To reward member organisations who have empowered communities to take responsibility and contribute to improving local environmental quality. To demonstrate where sustainable frameworks have allowed communities to develop a sense of ownership of the local area, encouraging them to drive forward new ideas and initiatives. The group or individual involved will also gain recognition for their work and receive an award and certificate, if applicable.
Innovation
To reward new and pioneering ideas, initiatives and working practices that can demonstrate how they are improving the quality of the local environment and increasing efficiency. These initiatives must have made a real difference which can be evidenced with positive outcomes.
Business Award
To reward pioneering schemes which have successfully engaged businesses and the wider community resulting in improved local environmental quality.
Local Environment Champion of the Year
To reward an outstanding individual or team who has gone beyond the call of duty in delivering environmental activity and initiatives leading to improvements in local environmental quality and/or antisocial behaviour. Nominations can come from across the full spectrum of colleagues or volunteers at all levels.
Environmental Service Operative or Crew of the Year – New for 2012!
To reward an individual or team who has gone beyond the call of duty and shown exceptional standards of efficiency, effectiveness and attention to detail in both customer service and operational delivery on local environmental management leading to improvements in local environmental quality.
Environmental Elected Member of the Year – New for 2012!
To reward an elected member within the environmental portfolio who has demonstrated exceptional and inspirational leadership in achieving cost effective, efficient and high quality local environmental services, making an outstanding contribution to improvements in local environmental quality and/or antisocial behaviour.
People’s Choice Award
All finalists will be eligible to be entered into the People’s Choice Award voted for by delegates at the Keep Britain Tidy Network Annual Conference 2012.
